Growing and Changing EYFS PSHE lesson. A detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for EYFS/Reception age children. This lesson has been designed for use with children in Reception, however, the PowerPoint and activities could be adapted for use with other age groups. In this lesson, the children will learn why we grow. We will look at examples of plants and animals in nature, and also take a more detailed look at some of the stages of human life. We will read* The Growing Story* by Ruth Krauss before discussing a set of teacher-led comprehension questions, followed by a choice of adult-led or independent activities. The lesson includes a sing-along starter (to ensure a swift start to the lesson), a story with accompanying questions, an adult-led focus task, independent activities to be carried out during continuous provision, and a plenary task. Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to.

A pack of seven detailed resources created especially for LGBT+ Month. These sessions each last around 30 mins each and are ideal for use in Tutor Time. The Home Learning book will last you another 2 hours. This pack serves as an introduction to the LGBT+ / LGBTQAI community, breaking down the acronyms, tackling issues like transphobia and homophobia and investigating why it is still a term which it isn’t always easy to define. Each of the six lessons focuses on and explores the definition, popular culture and identity of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I). The sessions each contain three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task. This is a simple but thought-provoking board game to be played in pairs. Use a coin and move one place for tails and two for heads, that way more of the dilemmas will be discussed. You will need to cut out the dilemma cards. For each card the player has to decide how they would act in a difficult friendship scenario. The first to reach the finish line has shown the qualities needed to be a genuinely good friend. A 25 minute Tutor Time session created especially for LGBT+ Month. The session serves as an introduction to the LGBT+ / LGBTQAI community, breaking down the acronyms and investigating why it is still a term which it isn’t always easy to define. This is the first of six sessions to be used throughout LGBT+ month, each focusing on and exploring the culture and history of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I). The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task. The session is editable and been created to be perfect to just pick up and use. This is a 25 minute session. For full, hour long LGBT+ PSHE lessons, please see here.
